Confirmation dresses for girls, sizes 152 to 176
Confirmation, Firmung, Jugendweihe: most girls are 12 to 15, and the dress has to work in a church or a town hall, at a family lunch and in the photos that stay on the wall. Every dress here comes in the teen sizes 152 to 176, about 12 to 16 years. The longest are from TNTRM, part of ©Infantium Victoria: the Drama Dress in Black Biostructure, with long sleeves and a handkerchief hem to mid-calf, and the same cut in Brown Chambray and Beige Check Seersucker.
Black and navy for church
In many German parishes the confirmation dress is still dark. Black or navy with sleeves covers the shoulders without needing a cardigan. Besides the Drama Dress there is the Square Shirt-Dress in Navy Chambray, long-sleeved and past the knee, and in cotton velvet the Kids Black Velvet A-line Dress. The Girls' Handkerchief Dress in Black and the Black Cape Gown with Hand Smock are for families who want something more formal. More in our black dresses for girls.
White and light colours
For a Firmung, or a Konfirmation where light colours are the custom, look at the Square Shirt-Dress in White Seersucker, the Girls' Off-White Handkerchief Dress and the White Smock Dress with a cape in Weganool, a plant fibre, which keeps arms covered in a cold church and comes off for lunch.
Jugendweihe
Jugendweihe has no dress code, so the dress can be more personal: the Double-Layer Dress in Morgado Plaid with its asymmetric hem, the Kids Grey Velvet A-line Dress, the Girls Green Velvet Dress in cotton corduroy, or The Raven Dress in black.
Sizes
Our sizes are heights in centimetres: 152 is about 12 years, 164 about 14, 176 about 16. Our cut is slim and European; between two sizes, take the larger, and a dress bought for a spring confirmation will often still fit at the summer weddings. The size and hand-me-down guide has the measurements. Every piece is vegan; GOTS-certified pieces are marked on the product page. For a Bat Mitzvah, see our Bat Mitzvah dresses.
Frequently asked
What should a girl wear to her confirmation?
A dress that covers the shoulders, or comes with a cape or cardigan, and reaches the knee or below is the safe choice for church. Dark colours are traditional for a Protestant Konfirmation in Germany; white and light colours are common at a Catholic Firmung. Ask the parish if you are unsure.
What sizes do your confirmation dresses come in?
152 to 176, about 12 to 16 years. Sizes are heights in centimetres. The sizes in stock are shown on each product page.
Are there confirmation dresses with long sleeves?
Yes. The Drama Dress and the Square Shirt-Dress have long sleeves, and the White Smock Dress comes with a cape.
Which dress suits a Jugendweihe?
Jugendweihe has no dress code. Any dress on this page works; the plaid, grey velvet and green corduroy dresses are less formal than the black and white ones.
What are the dresses made of?
Plant fibres, mostly cotton: chambray, seersucker, cotton velvet and corduroy. The cape of the White Smock Dress is Weganool, a plant fibre. Every piece is vegan, and the exact fabric is on each product page.
