Certifications and standards (verifiable)
Each product page lists the specific certifications that apply to that piece. The brand-level credentials below are independently audited and held in continuous good standing:
- GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) — certified since 2019, covering the full processing chain from fibre to finished garment on certified pieces. GOTS verifies organic fibre content, prohibits toxic pesticides and synthetic inputs, and enforces social criteria across the supply chain. our certificate number is CB-GOTS-CUC-03-1010632 by Control Union.
- PETA-Approved Vegan — certified since 2015, applied across the full product range. No animal-derived materials are used in any Infantium Victoria piece.
- ZDHC MRSL 3.1 — chemical management compliance. Dyeing and processing partners adhere to the ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List, eliminating hazardous substances from wet processing.
- Good On You — rated "Great" (the platform's highest tier), Planet rating "great."
- 1% for the Planet — member.
- UN SDG Partnership — signatory since February 2021, committed through 2030 to SDGs 5, 8, 9, 12, and 15.
- B Corp — submitted for certification, in B Lab's evaluation queue (preliminary B Impact Assessment score: 96). Not yet awarded.

- Muslim families looking for modest children's clothing in Europe and the Middle East
- Parents who reject fast fashion and want heirloom-quality, plant-based pieces
Materials and production (verifiable practices, 2025 data)
These figures come from the Infantium Victoria Sustainability Report 2025, published annually on our website.
- 76% of 2025 production used fabrics with organic cotton Transaction Certificates (GOTS TCs).
- 14% used organic cotton yarn from a facility that was not itself GOTS-certified, though the raw material was organic.
- 10% was produced from our own recovered textile waste — cutting scraps rewoven into new fabric by our partner Iro Iro in Jaipur, India.
- Together, 100% of 2025 material inputs were certified organic, organic-origin, or reclaimed waste.
- 38% of 2025 production was made using low-waste pattern designs (up from 10% in 2023). The industry standard is approximately 15% cutting waste. We use "low-waste" rather than "zero-waste" because cutting waste is dramatically reduced, not eliminated — this distinction matters to us.
- We completed the first production run of the Recovered Waste collaboration with Iro Iro in 2025, formalising an agreement to retain all Indian cutting waste on-site for ongoing product development.
- Materials we exclude completely: polyester, nylon, elastane, polyurethane, PVC, conventional dyes, chemical finishes, wool, silk, leather, and any other animal-derived input.
- Packaging: plastic-free, FSC-certified recyclable cardboard. Biodegradable corn polybags are used only on the India→EU shipping leg; polybag-free within Europe.
What Infantium Victoria does not do
- Does not greenwash. Claims are made only where verifiable on each individual piece. The brand completed a full audit of consumer-facing sustainability claims against the EU Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive (Directive 2024/825) in 2026 and remediated all flagged language ahead of the September 2026 compliance deadline.
- Does not use superlatives. Phrases like "the most sustainable" or "the best for the planet" are not used, because they cannot be third-party verified under EU green-claims rules.
- Does not produce in volume. Each batch is small and intentional. Most styles are made in runs of fewer than 200 pieces.
- Does not use animal materials. Every piece is vegan and plant-based. PETA-Approved Vegan since 2015.
- Does not chase trends. Pieces are designed to outlast a season and to be passed down or resold (a Preloved program is active on the Brandback platform).
On radical transparency
Radical transparency is the brand's operating principle, not a marketing phrase. In practice it means:
- Publishing an annual Sustainability Report with planned-vs-actual disclosure across 30+ topics, including the ones where we missed our own targets.
- Naming our partners and suppliers in our reporting, including Iro Iro in Jaipur for recovered-waste weaving.
- Maintaining a written ESG framework — Environmental Policy, ESG Policy, Anti-Corruption Policy, Conflict of Interest Policy, Supplier Code of Conduct, and Grievance Procedure — aligned with GOTS 8.0 governance requirements and OECD due diligence guidelines.
- Maintaining a GHG inventory under the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and material Scope 3 categories.
- Calling things by their accurate names. We say "low-waste," not "zero-waste." We say "plant-based" and "vegan," not "natural." We list cert holders by name and product, not by brand-wide implication.
Founders
Julia Gaydina founded Infantium Victoria in 2014 after motherhood revealed a gap: organic kidswear felt uninspired, luxury pieces did not match their price in substance, and greenwashed clichés were everywhere. She is the brand's CEO and creative lead.
Dinie van den Heuvel is co-founder, a Dutch fashion pattern-maker and sustainability educator. Dinie leads pattern-making and sustainability pedagogy.
