Every piece pairs with every other. Buy three, dress a week, and mornings take a minute.
Why black, from day one
Black is where we began, and the colour we keep returning to. On a baby it hides the day — the milk, the mash, the afternoon on the grass — and still looks considered at bedtime. It is gentle where it matters: GOTS-certified pieces are marked on each product page, and on those pieces the dyes are tested under the GOTS standard. And it gets handed down. Black at six months is still black at six years, on the next child. For the very first weeks, the newborn romper comes in anthracite, sizes 56 and 62.
Cut to last
Every piece here is made in an atelier we name on its product page. Seams are hand-finished. Size runs are full, from baby to teen, so a favourite can be bought again in the next size up. These are final production runs. When a size goes, it goes. Nothing here is reproduced.

Will the black fade?
Not if you treat it kindly. Wash cold, inside out, with like colours. Line dry, out of direct sun. Deep dyes on cotton hold — it is heat and the tumble dryer that dull them.
Is black safe on a newborn's skin?
GOTS-certified pieces are marked on each product page. On those pieces, the dyes are tested under the GOTS standard, which restricts what may be used on fabric that sits against skin. Everything is vegan — nothing animal-derived, nothing scratchy.
What sizes does The Dark Edit cover?
From 68 (six months) to 176 (sixteen years), with the newborn romper from size 56. Not every piece runs the full range — each product page lists its own sizes, and the size guide has the measurements.
Can I mix baby and kids' sizes for the three-piece set?
Yes. Any three pieces from The Dark Edit count, in any sizes. A dress for one child, a sweatshirt and a onesie for another — one set.
