The Founders' Vault
These pieces have never been gathered into a collection before.
They are the dresses we have kept folded at the back of the atelier — too rare, too hand-finished, too personal to send into the open catalogue. Each one is finished by hand. Most exist in numbers we can count on two hands.
None will be reproduced.
The hand-painted dresses are painted directly onto GOTS organic cotton — with a brush, by hand, in patterns that exist exactly once. Each one is a unique work; no two are the same.
The hand-embroidered pieces are stitched by the experienced artisans in our partner atelier in Bangalore. A single intricate motif — a row of ladybugs, a cluster of bees, a hand-drawn castle — takes a full day of skilled work to complete. Every stitch is placed by one human hand.
The Lotus silk dress took two artisans in the Mekong Delta three weeks of work — ten thousand lotus stems, hand-spun in the way silk has been made for two thousand years. Twelve dresses exist.
The hand-block-printed pieces are stamped, by hand, with carved wooden blocks in our partner atelier — a craft that has been practised on the subcontinent for centuries.
These are not products. They are heirloom masterpieces — the kind of piece you invest in once, for the moment that calls for something irreplaceable, and inherit forward as your daughter passes it on.
We open the Vault rarely, and only for the people who have been with us from the start.
When a piece is gone, it is gone. Forever.
